22 April 2006 -  Astana Ziska was entered in the Aloha Schutzhund Club Trial and competed for her BH title.  She rec'd a Pass score and did a fabulous job, considering she was in heat.  Ziska is now preparing for her Sch I title.
31 May 2006 -  Update to all our friends;  We are planning to visit Holland and Germany in AUG/SEP.  We will be traveling with our good   friends Robert Blok (Dutch Native) and Fred Lanting (German Shepherd Expert, SV Judge, Author and Trip leader).  We will be attending    the German Seiger Show (3 days) in Oberhausen as well as other trials to include KNPV Regionals and the WUSV Regionals in Holland. We are scheduled to visit several training clubs and breeders in Holland and Germany.  If all goes as planned, we will be bringing back at least one dog to our kennel.  We are planning to stay in Europe for about 17 days, so we will have plenty of time to get fat on bratwurst and fill up on great German pastry.  Robert and I plan to sample the finest German Beer and buy lots of training gear for our fellow Schutzhund enthusiasts and ourselves. Robert is confident he will get us to sample the finest raw herring in Holland, I'm game, but I'm not so sure Jim Sr. is keen on it. Watch Out Europe here we come! August can't get here fast enough!!!!
Next litter due in JUNE 2008
16 July 2006 - The Aloha Schutzhund Club will host a Schutzhund Trial in Nov 2006.  We are currently coordinating the details and arrangements.  We are hoping Astana Ziska will be competing for her Schutzhund I title along with several other dogs from the club.  More information will be made available as events, times and places are finalized.  The Aloha Schutzhund club is selling T-shirts to help raise funds for the club.  These shirts are available in various sizes and in the following colors; Dark Green, Navy Blue and Black. Medium- X-Large Shirts sell for $7.00 each and size 2X sell for $8.00 each.  Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one to help support our club.
01 December 2006 - Kolohe is pregnant and due around the 7th of December!  We are very excited about this upcoming litter and believe these pups will be exceptional.  We are taking deposits right now!
04 November 2006 -  Congratulations to Robert Blok and his K9 partner Bear for thier performance and earning the Schutzhund I title.  Look forward to seeing Bear and Robert compete for the Schutzhund II title soon!  Keep up the good work guys.   Ziska unfortunatley did not pass her Schutzhund I test.  We passed the tracking and obedience phases but just weren't ready for the protection phase.  We are continuing to train and should be competing again at the next trial.
11 September 2006 - We had a blast in Europe!  Robert Blok and his family were awesome hosts. You can see many of the things we saw during our visit on the pages in the Europe 2006 section.  We bought 2 dogs during our last couple of days in Germany.   I can't wait to go back and see more dogs in Holland and Germany!  We had lots of good food and good beer!  I got to train in KNPV as well as do a little sleevework with some dogs.  A truely treasured memory!
07 December 2006- 0130 Kolohe is acting like she's going in to labor.  She is very close, but apparantly she's not quite ready. 05 December 2006 - I was contacted by Francis from the Pfalzerheide kennel in Germany, and was told she has a puppy for us. We are working out the logistics of importing this cute pup so she doesn't have to go thru quarantine. More to follow.
11 December 2006 - Kolohe started labor around 0430 and finally started giving birth at 0510.  First pup out was a very big girl.  She was born breech, but was fine. Pups started coming about every hour after the first. She is having a long and difficult labor. She finished up at 1100 with 5 pups, 3F/2M.  All very healthy and BIG!

07 Jan 2007 - The dogs in quarantine have only 19 days until they are released.  We can't wait until they can run and play in an open field and start training in Schutzhund!  Latest report from Canada says that Famke is doing great and is still beating up her brothers.  Ann Marie is giving us status reports every so often.  As for our current A-litter, all pups are doing fine and growing very fast.  Leeza (my daughter) has returned to Hawaii with her husband.  Leeza will be training BlackJack and has joined our Schutzhund Training Club.

3 FEB 2007 - "A" litter puppies go to their new homes.  A sad day for us, but a very happy day for the new families.  We are very hopeful for these great pups and hope they become everything their new families expect from them.
13 FEB 2007 - Last "A" litter pup goes home.  Angus flew to Guam today.  He is such a sweet boy and we all have become very fond of him.  He's such a funny rascal and a thief.  Best of luck to Richard and family, Angus will be a great dog.
14 FEB 2007 - Astana Ziska had her hips and elbows x-rayed today.  She came home a little woozy, but seemed to be no worse for wear.  At first look, the hips and elbows look super and very tight.  We are submitting them for her German "A" stamp.  Keeping our fingers crossed for a good rating.
18-25 FEB 2007 - We will be attending a training seminar in Vancouver Canada.  Will update the page with highlights of our trip.
